Characteristics
It comprises:
- Soft, floppy, radiopaque polyurethane catheter, resistant to kinking, that minimises the possibility of damage to the lung when re-expanded.
- Self-container of absorbent material inside, that absorbs 10-15 c.c. of cumulative fluid with:
- A diaphragm in line with the catheter, with a red signal indicating the trocar entry into the pleural cavity, to prevent the risk of damaging the lung.
When the trocar penetrates the pleural space, the diaphragm rises, indicating a positive pressure and, when it deflates, it indicates a negative pressure.
- A one-way valve to prevent air reflux.
- A hydrophobic filter to keep the system closed to the outside.
- Aspiration cannula with dual valve for cases where immediate air removal is required.
- A suction tube to connect to a suction system.
- A hydrophobic filter to keep the system closed to the outside.
- Self-ventilation allows complete patient ambulation during resolution.
- All components required for immediate insertion and evacuation are contained in the procedure tray.
